How to bathe an infant

The first time I had an infant in my arms was when I gave birth to my baby. Her weight was normal as a newborn, but to held one small humanbeing in my arms was one undescribable feeling. I bet I looked awkward carrying her, but there is always a first time, right?
Sometime on february, my nanny asked for a day-off. As a mother herself, I was watching her closely every little thing she did to my baby, which includeds feeding, bathing, etc. On the day before she went home, I searched videos in youtube on how to bathe an infant. I learned that there are various way and it really depends on what best suits for you and your child.
The day finally arrived. I was preparing that day as if I was about to take an exam. I prepared her all her things, like clean clothes, towel, baby bath lactacyd, small bath tub, a babysize sponge, sponge, and water
  • I prepared half a pail of lukewarm water.
  • I laid my baby on the babysize sponge. I started pouring water on her body excluding the head.
  • I lathered lactacyd on her body, especially the neck, armpits, between the fingers, and toes, legs, and arms of course. You can use a sponge or your hands. I poured water again.
  • I lifted my baby and supported her chest with my left hand. I poured water on her head. Using my hand, I wiped off excess water on her face so she could breath easily.
  • I lathered lactacyd on her back and head. To finish, I rinsed her with water.
  • I cleaned her earlobes and navel, and checked for boggers. I clothed her.
Note: Do it fast. An infant's body does not need a lot of cleaning. I used lukewarm water because an infant's body cannot tolerate a cold temperature. They get cold when their naked bodies are wet.
My way may not be applicable to your baby.
Good luck and enjoy!
